Honda has announced an all-new trim level for the Honda Amaze compact sedan. The SX variant sits right between the mid-level S and top of the line VX variant. In addition to the S variant, the SX variant gets ABS with EBD and front dual SRS airbags. This applies only to the petrol variant as ABS with EBD is standard in all diesel variants already.
The Amaze petrol SX variant retails at Rs 6,22,000 and the diesel SX variant is priced at Rs 7,12,000 (both prices Ex-Showroom, Mumbai.)
The SX becomes the fifth trim to be added to the Honda Amaze, apart from the existing E, EX, S and VX variants.
The Amaze has been doing remarkably well in the compact sedan segment since its launch in April, 2013, and has been giving steady competition to the segment leader, Maruti Swift Dzire. Within four months of its launch, Honda on August 29th, 2013, announced that it had sold 30,000 units of the Amaze.
The Amaze had also topped a recent JD Power APEAL study for the entry midsize car segment in India.
Honda also exports the India-made Amaze to Nepal, South Africa and Brunei.
