Comes with a stiffer suspension and bodykit.
Add a bodykit to a Toyota (to most JDM cars, in fact), and they change drastically. And the Toyota Corolla Altis isn't new to the whole ritual either. Showcased at the ongoing Thailand International Motor Expo 2014 is the Toyota Corolla Altis ESport, a special edition based on the current Corolla Altis, made for the Thai market.
Launched earlier this year, the car comes with a stiffer suspension, an accessorized exterior, and an all-black interior. With prices starting from 899,000 Baht (equivalent of INR 17 lakh), it's slightly more expensive than the regular Corolla it's based on, which is priced at 839,000 Baht onward.
The bodykit for the Corolla Altis ESport includes a front and rear body-skirt, a chrome-tipped exhaust pipe, and a bootlid spoiler. Projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED taillamps, and 17-inch alloys complete the list of extras on this version.
On the inside, the cabin gets a 'Cyber Carbon' all-black treatment with black upholstery and a black dashboard. The car also gets bucket seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters and audio controls, an entertainment system with USB and Aux connectivity, and a remote 'Jackknife' key.

On the mechanical side of things, the vehicle features a 1.8-litre petrol engine that makes maximum power of 141 PS @ 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 177 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. Being a CVT it doesn't have gears but 7 steps, and can be operated manually using the steering mounted paddles.
