Revealed in London on the 7th of November, the 2014 Nissan Qashqai is a strong candidate for the Indian market next year.
Nissan has uploaded two videos on its Youtube channel to quickly explain the effort that it has taken to develop the new model.
Based on the Renault-Nissan CMF platform, the redesigned Qashqai is 49 kg lighter than the previous version, despite being loaded with more features.

Nissan plans to make the Qashqai at its Sunderland plant in the UK, and begin sales in January 2014. The first generation Qashqai which launched in 2007 is a resounding success in European crossover segment, recording sales of 2 million units.
The new Qashqai features all-LED headlamps, active grille shutter system for better aerodynamics, dual floor luggage compartment, dual piston shock absorbers, EPAS and Hill Start assistance system.
For the European market, Nissan has announced two petrol and two diesel engine options. The 1.2 DIG-T (turbocharged) engine produces 115 PS and 190 Nm and is matched to a six-speed manual gearbox. It replaces the 1.6-liter NA engine.

The second choice is the 1.6 DIG-T (turbo) that develops 150 PS and 240 Nm, coupled to a six-speed transmission.

The diesel engine lineup has a 1.5L and 1.6L diesel engine. The 1.5L is the K9K unit that generates 110 PS and 260 Nm, fitted with a start-stop system. The more powerful 1.6 dCi engine makes 130 PS of power, is paired to manual and automatic transmission, and matched to two- and four-wheel drive modes.
