The new MINI Paceman has made its global debut at the ongoing 2014 Beijing Auto Show.
The new Paceman gets all new engines that are now EU6 compliant, fresh design details, sportier cabin with anthracite-coloured dials and new paint finishes along with new alloy wheels.
All models get the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engines, with the power unit developing varying outputs. For the base model, the engine makes 122 hp, with the Cooper S making 190 hp and the John Cooper Works edition making a considerably higher 218 hp.
The MINI Paceman is the second model in the range to offer MINI’s ALL4 all-wheel drive system. ALL4 distributes power at continuously variable levels between the front and rear axle by means of an electromagnetic centre differential and is available for all model variants.
All MINI Paceman models can be combined with a six-speed automatic transmission as opposed to the standard six-speed manual. The automatic transmission offers the possibility of manual gear selection with Steptronic – including shift paddles.
