The 2014 Mercedes E 63 AMG will be launched in India on July 25.
On the sidelines of the Mercedes B Class diesel launch, Mr. Eberhard Kern, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz India confirmed to IndianAutosBlog.com that the performance saloon is indeed coming our way on the aforementioned date.
Mercedes is on a product offensive having launched the new GL Class, A Class, 2014 E Class and B Class diesel in quick succession. The momentum will be maintained with the launch of the new E 63 AMG.
Powered by a 5.5 litre turbocharged V8, the E 63 AMG is available in two variants internationally - AMG and AMG S. The standard AMG version puts out 557bhp and 720 Nm of torque. The S version is capable of 585 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. The former gets to 100kph from rest in 4.2 seconds while the latter manages a time of 3.6 seconds!
Both cars bank on Mercedes' 4MATIC all wheel drive system to get the dynamics right. Overall, the E is vested with enough badness to take on the BMW M5 and the Audi S6 which will be launched tomorrow!
