The Jaguar F-Type has just been launched in India.
The F-Type which is the spiritual successor to the iconic Jaguar E-Type was globally unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. International deliveries of the car commenced only recently and India is one of the earlier markets to receive the F-Type.
While available in three variants internationally, only the top two variants are being introduced in India.
The 3.0-liter V6 S produces 380PS of power at 6,500rpm while churning a peak 460Nm of torque from only 3,500rpm. The V6 S does the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds while the top speed is limited to 275 km/h. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends the power to the rear wheels.
The range topping V8 S comes with the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine. It produces 495PS of power at 6,500rpm while churning a peak 625Nm of torque from only 2,500rpm. The V8 S is currently the fastest and the quickest F-Type taking only 4.3 seconds to do the 0-100km/h run. Top speed is limited to 300km/h. Like the V6 S, the V8 S also comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The base V6 is not being launched in India at the moment.
