Ford EcoSport to launch in 4 trim levels; Variant-wise feature list inside
Shrawan Raja, I'm the Founder & CEO of IndianAutosBlog.com. I love teamwork and talking about cars.
Our friends at TheAutomotiveIndia have cracked a big story this afternoon revealing for the first time the variant-wise equipment list for the India-spec Ford EcoSport.
Its been a marathon of updates on the EcoSport since we started posting this morning. We’ve brought you first pictures of the EcoSport media cars from a Goan car yard, presented details on the mega global media drive that kick starts in a few days and now, courtesy of TAI, can publish features and variants of the new iPhone of the Indian auto market.
The Ford EcoSport will launch in four trims, christened with familiar Ford nomenclature – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Optional.
The Ambiente and Trend variants are powered by 1.5-liter petrol or 1.5-liter diesel engines, and can be availed only with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Titanium and Titanium Optional variants can be had with these engine options as well as the 1-liter Ecoboost (turbocharged) petrol engine.
The six-speed automatic transmission is also only available on the two top-end variants, and it comes paired only to the 1.5-liter petrol engine.
Shifting focus now to the variant-wise equipment list –
- The Ambient is a bit malnourished, perhaps to start at a rock-bottom price, lacking safety features such as ABS or airbags. It makes do with manual aircon, manual rear windows, but shows some tech-savyness with a Bluetooth audio system having USB and AUX support.
- The Trend variant introduces safety features to the EcoSport. Sporting ABS and EBD, but lacking airbags, it gets four powered windows, steering-mounted audio controls, split rear seats and body colored mirrors.
- The Titanium variant covers all the bases with dual front airbags, SYNC system, auto AC, 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome fittings and rear parking sensors.
- The Titanium Optional variant is fully loaded adding leather seats, push button start, chest level and curtain airbags, and keyless entry to the Titanium variant.
What do you think about the planning of the EcoSport variants? Would you like to see Ford offer anything more or something as standard in the future?
