The 2013 Nissan Micra was globally unveiled on June 4th. Since then, we've driven the new Micra and also compared the looks and features of the refreshed model with it's older sibling. OnCars now reports that the 2013 Micra will be launched in India on July 3.
The 2013 Micra is a comprehensive refresh of the old car. Nissan has altered the designs of the bumpers, headlights and taillights from an external standpoint. Even the grill of the car signals Nissan's corporate look. Additionally, the taillights of the new Micra feature LED lights and the bootlid of the car gets a bootlip which makes it look better.
Inside, the new Micra features an upgraded door trim which looks a lot more premium than the existing all-plastic layout. The central console is now finished in a piano-black color (currently it is 'greige') while a new music system adds the feature of Bluetooth. Even the steering wheel has buttons for you to receive and end calls. The seat fabrics are of a different color as well.
Technology wise, the new Micra's petrol and diesel engines have been tweaked to a minor extent in the interest of fuel economy. The petrol engine can also be specced with Nissan's X-TRONIC CVT gearbox. The top-end diesel variant gets 4 airbags in addition to ABS, reverse parking sensors, reverse camera and fog lights.
