Nissan India has launched a new base variant on their 2013 Micra range. The new variant, titled the 'XE', will be available with a diesel engine only.
The following is the list of features available on the Micra XE variant:
- Chrome-plated radiator grille
- Tilt Steering
- Drive computer
- Driver Airbag
- Immobilizer
- Warning Indicators for the Driver Seat Belt, Door Ajar, Low Fuel Level and Headlight On.
Creature comforts such as front and rear power windows, music system, steering mounted controls, etc, are unavailable on this trim level.
The Micra XE diesel has been priced at INR 5,57,390, as opposed to the earlier starting price of 5.99 lakhs (XL diesel variant).
The Nissan Micra range was revamped in July and the Japanese car maker diversified their playing field by launching the low cost Micra Active range alongside the Micra facelift. While the Micra Active is available with a petrol engine only, the Micra facelift gets petrol and diesel engine options.
Mr. Kenichiro Yomura, President of Nissan India Operations & MD & CEO, Nissan Motor India said -
I am confident that the New Micra diesel variant is a good value proposition and a desirable option for the Indian customers. We are keen to replicate the success of the existing variants with the diesel-powered XE variant of the New Micra.
