Will go on sale in India in Q3 2018.
Nissan is planning to foray the sub-compact SUV segment in India with the Nissan Kicks next year. A new report from Autocar India says that besides making 30,000 units for the domestic market, Nissan India plans to export 20,000 units of Kicks in the first year of production.
The Nissan Kicks' production will be designated to the Renault-Nissan Alliance facility in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu. The globally sold Nissan Kicks is based on the Nissan Micra's V-platform, but for India and some other emerging markets, Nissan has decided to make this model using the B0/Duster underpinnings that is well localized in India.
The Franco-Japanese alliance currently utilises the B0/Duster platform for the Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. Later this year, Renault will launch the Renault Captur (Renault Kaptur) using this platform. So, the decision to change it stems from manufacturing scale and the acceptability of the platform.

The Indian-spec Nissan Kicks should share its petrol and diesel engines with the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Renault Captur. The exterior design will not differ from the original model.
The urban SUV will sit above the Nissan Terrano and rival the Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra Scorpio
