With every edition, the Auto Expo gets bigger and the Auto Expo 2014 is no exception. With India's importance as a global automotive market growing bigger despite sales slowing down, the number of launches and debuts are higher than ever before with 15 planned for this year's Expo, as revealed by the organizers through an official tweet.
There are some that have been announced and some that haven't. In no order of importance, here's our list:
Maruti Celerio
Maruti's replacement for the A-Star in India comes at a segment that has become highly competitive after the Grand i10's launch, and is probably one of the few segments that the Indian manufacturer doesn't dominate.
Honda Vision XS-1
The Vision XS-1 is a compact SUV concept that will make its global debut in New Delhi. Even though Honda hasn't revealed much detail about Vision XS-1 but we know for a fact that it will be based on the Brio platform.
Nissan Sunny facelift
The Nissan Sunny will be the second product to make its global debut here. The Nissan Sunny is an important model for the Japanese company in India as it is also exported out of India to other markets.
Datsun I2
The Datsun I2 will make its global debut in the concept version and Datsun have just revealed a teaser sketch this morning. The I2 will be a sub-compact hatchback competing against the Maruti Alto and the Hyundai Eon.
Fiat Punto Avventure
The Punto Avventure will be a crossover based on the Punto platform to take on the likes of the Ford EcoSport and the VW CrossPolo.
Tata Falcon 4 and Falcon 5
Tata Motors will mark the global premiere of the Falcon 4 and Falcon 5, codenames for a hatchback and the sub-4meter compact sedan respectively.
Hyundai Grand i10 sedan
The Grand i10 sedan will be shown one day prior to the Auto Expo to the media, and then be unveiled to the public at the Auto Expo. It goes on sale later this year competing against the Honda Amaze and Maruti Dzire.
Renault concept
Renault has just informed us of a concept car that will premiere at the show. We expect this concept to be formed on the Datsun I2 and that Renault's version would be reskinned top to bottom.
