The made-in-India VW Vento was crash tested by the Asean NCAP recently. Asean NCAP sourced the car from VW Malaysia (VW India ships the Vento to Malaysia in CKD form) where the car is called VW Polo Sedan.

Apart from featuring front side airbags in addition to dual front airbags, the Vento sold in Malaysia is identical to the Indian model. The Vento scored 4/5 stars in adult occupant safety and 4/5 stars in child occupant safety. The model tested was the 1.6-liter petrol with 6-speed automatic transmission.
The safety features listed on the crashed Vento were four airbags, driver-side seatbelt reminder, 3-point seatbelts and ABS. Asean NCAP also performed a side impact test on the Vento and declared the result to be a Pass.
While the lack of ESC is listed as a reason for not giving the Vento 5/5 stars, the Vento TSI and Polo GT TSI available in India come with this feature. The report below gives more details about the crash test results.
