The VW e-Up! was first shown at VW's 2013 Annual Press and Investor's Conference in Wolfsburg in March 2013. The public debut of the all-electric hatchback would be held next week at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Here are a bunch of videos detailing the e-Up!

VW announced that the e-Up! would be priced from 26,900 euros in Germany (INR 23.47 lakhs) which is about 2.5 times the price of a normal Up! Apart from the 15-inch alloy wheels and the e-Up! logos, a blue-colored VW emblem distinguishes the e-Up! from the gasoline version. The interior features light-grey seat covers combined with a blue stitching.

The e-Up! gets an 82PS electric motor which churns out 210Nm of torque from zero rpm. 0-100km/h takes 14 seconds while the top-speed is rated at 135km/h. With an 18.7 kWh battery pack, and a kerb weighing just 1,185kg, the e-Up! has a range of 150km on a full charge.

The battery can be charged by plugging the charging port (which is behind the fuel door) to an AC or DC outlet. This flexibility ensures that the e-Up! can be charged right about anywhere. 80% of the battery can be recharged within 30 minutes using fast-charge technology.
