We just brought you the uncamouflaged spyshots of the VW Cross Polo earlier today and now the German car maker has launched it at Rs. 7.75 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Cross Polo is nothing but a Polo with a rough road package to lure the SUV loving Indians. The hatchback sports chrome accented grille, new front and rear bumpers with silver scuff plates, smoked headlamps, black side cladding, black moulded covers for the wheel arches, silver roof rails and wing mirrors, and Cross Polo decals on the rear doors. The exterior features are aimed at giving the car a crossover appeal.
On the inside, the wannabe crossover comes with 'Livon' Titanium black upholstery, chrome trim and leather wrapped Steering wheel, gear knob and hand brake lever.
The equipment list of the Cross Polo includes ABS, dual airbags, Climatronic AC with pollen filter, 4-speaker 2-Din RCD 320 music system with USB, Aux-in, SD Card and Bluetooth connectivity, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, height adjustable driver seat, powered rear view mirrors, foglights, rear parking sensors and remote central locking.
The Cross Polo is powered by the familiar 1.2 litre TDI diesel engine which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The oil burner puts out 75PS and 180 Nm of torque.
The VW Cross Polo is available in three exterior color options - Flash Red, Reflex Silver and Deep Black Pearl. Only one variant is available.
While the Skoda Fabia Scout didn't really make a mark in India, it will be interesting to observe the response for the Cross Polo which adopts the same recipe.
The sales of the Cross Polo will commence tomorrow (August 23).
