CarDekho reports that the Volkswagen India will commence deliveries of the VW Ameo from July 2016. It's expected to launch towards the end of the June.
The Ameo is VW’s first ever sub-4m sedan developed specifically for the Indian market. It is based on the PQ25 platform that underpins the VW Polo hatchback and Vento. Along with the platform, the Ameo also sources the exterior styling from the Polo, save for the boot and taillamps.
Inside, the compact sedan features a dual tone black and beige interior, silver trim on the centre console, multifunction 3-spoke steering wheel, automatic AC, and a 6.5 inch Mirrorlink touchscreen infotainment system in top-end grades.

The Ameo's engine lineup will include an updated version of the 1.5-liter TDI diesel engine and the 1.2-liter three-cylinder MPI petrol engine. While the diesel engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG gearbox, the petrol engine will come with a 5-speed manual.
