Facelifted model still not launched in Malaysia.
UMW Toyota Motor has launched the Toyota Vios in Malaysia with updates for MY2017. The new Vios is not the facelifted model that was launched in Thailand earlier this year; it's the pre-facelift with feature enrichment.
The MY-spec 2017 Toyota Vios features an enhanced digital video recorder or a dashcam as standard. The new model also gets two USB charging ports located on the centre cluster. The E, G, GX and TRD Sportivo grades have gained a new feature called Advanced Panoramic View Monitor which essentially is a 360-degree view camera. Toyota says that the Vios is the first B-segment car to offer this feature. Lastly, the company also mentions auto-folding ORVMs and a DVD-AVN system as the "new-found advanced luxuries" in the car.
The 2017 Toyota Vios is available in total six configurations: J MT, J AT, E AT, G AT, GX AT and TRD Sportivo AT. The 2NR-FE 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i four-cylinder petrol engine is standard. It produces 79 kW (107 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm and channels power to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission.
