Following the foot step of VW India, Toyota Kirlosker Motors also plans to have its single-make racing series in India. The company showcased Etios and Liva race cars which were developed by TRD (Toyota Racing Development), an in-house tuning shop for all Toyota, Lexus, and Scion cars. So what is so special about this particular racing cars?
- 16 valve DOHC, 4 Cylinder Petrol engine
- A full racing inspired body kit
- 17 inch alloys
- Sport suspension
- Lots of racing stuff such as sporty steering, muffler, racing seats with harness etc
- And a fire extinguisher as well.
Toyota has always fostered racing in local markets such as Japan and Thailand. Toyota India will launch the Etios Motor Racing in India aiming to foster motorsports in India and trying to put it in the reach of common man.
The company will be looking for drivers across 22 cities aged between 15-24. They will be trained and groomed and finally 25 of them will be selected for the final racing series which will commence in the third quarter of 2013. The winners will get the opportunity to represent Toyota in international racing events.
Also, Toyota Customers will get an opportunity to experience these cars on racing circuits soon. That's a pretty good reason to book your Liva eh?
