As the Toyota Glanza's launch nears (6 June 2019), new details continue emerging online. Today, a report from Autocar India has revealed its features, specs, configurations and more.
The Toyota Glanza will be brimmed with premium features like automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, navigation and voice command functionality, dual airbags, 16-inch precision-cut dual-tone alloy wheels, steering-mounted audio controls and push-button in both the grades. LED projector headlamps, too, should be standard. The V trim will have additional features like UV-cut glass, LED DRLs for the headlights and different LED treatment for the tail-lamps, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto headlights with follow-me functionality and a reverse camera.
The Toyota Glanza will be available with two engines. One will be the BS-VI 1.2L VVT four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 61 kW (82.94 PS) of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque paired with a standard 5-speed MT or an optional CVT. The other will be the BS-VI 1.2L Dual Jet Dual VVT four-cylinder petrol powerhouse that features a dual-battery mild-hybrid system and churns out 66 kW (89.74 PS) and 113 Nm of torque. Linked to a 5-speed MT as standard, it will be available in only the G grade.
As in the Maruti Baleno, the petrol variant will return 21.01 km/l (MT)/19.56 km/l (CVT) and the petrol-electric mild-hybrid will have a fuel economy rating of 23.87 km/l. In total, five configurations will be offered: G, G CVT, V and V CVT.
The price estimation for the upcoming Toyota Glaza is kept at INR 8 lakh (ex-showroom) mark for the entry-level G (MT) grade (with MT), which is slightly higher compared to the Maruti Baleno's corresponding configuration. A three-year/1,00,000km warranty will be standard. In comparison, the Maruti Baleno comes with a standard two-year/40,000km warranty.
