Other new features include ISOFIX rear seat, power ORVMs and digital tachometer.
Autocar India has posted several up-close shots of the facelifted Toyota Etios, otherwise known as the Toyota Platinum Etios. Customer deliveries are expected to commence in the days ahead.
Other than the exterior and interior facelift, Toyota has also focused on improving the safety standards. The report states that the company has now made ABS as standard right from the base model, while dual airbags were already made standard across all variants in 2014.
Toyota has also added ISOFIX points for child seat at the back, as well as refined the side body structure for better impact absorption. The rear bench is based on a much stronger tubular structure instead of a traditional wire-frame structure. All in all, the improvements has increased the weight by 20 kg.
Minor refinements have also been made under the hood. Engineers have replaced conventional rubber engine mounts for new hydraulic mounts which should reduce engine vibrations, as well as introduced a lighter clutch for the diesel variant, more sound insulation and suspension tweaks.
