PT Toyota Astra Motor is showcasing three models at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2015 (GIIAS 2015).
The Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell vehicle has made its Indonesian debut at the GIIAS 2015. The polarizing design of the car features a heavily designed front bumper, a side profile replicating the shape of a water droplet, and a rear which is characterized by large trapezoidal taillights. Notable styling elements include LED headlights and 17-inch wheels.
The interior is packed with a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display, touch-activated HVAC panel, and power adjustable seats.
At the heart of the car is a fuel cell stack that develops 153 hp, with a power output density of 3.1 kW/l.
The car measures 4,890 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width, and 1,535 mm in height. It has a 2,780 mm long wheelbase, and its kerb weight is 1,850 kg. The four-seater was launched in Japan in December 2014.
The three-wheeled Toyota i-Road has made its Indonesian debut at the GIIAS 2015.
The compact vehicle, which reports suggested last year was being evaluated for a commercial launch, has two articulating wheels in the front, each powered by a small, two-kilowatt electric motor, and one wheel in the back, which turns like a trolley wheel. When it approaches a turn, the i-Road's body leans towards the ground, emulating the feel of a riding a motorcycle.
The vehicle's electric motors are powered by a lithium-ion battery that gives it a range of 48 km. Its top speed is restricted to 60 km/h in Japan.
Toyota Alphard Hybrid
Local reports say that bookings for the Toyota Alphard Hybrid, which is on display at GIIAS, is being taken. The luxury MPV is equipped with a 2AR-FXE 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine, combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and an E-Four (electric four-wheel drive system).
The new Alphard was unveiled in Japan in January with a front end sporting a new chrome grille, large headlamps with LED DRLs, and a deeper fascia. Extended side sill moldings, wrap-around taillamps and large chrome inserts are some of the immediately noticeable changes.
The MPV's cabin is in a 2+2+3 seating configuration, with second row Ottoman captain seats. A dual sunroof, automatic three-zone air conditioning, ambient lighting with 16 different colors and 4 brightness levels, and an intelligent Smart Entry round up the features.
