The Tata Safari Storme will be available in four variants - LX, EX and VX. The top-end VX model will be offered with a choice of 2WD or 4WD, and all variants are priced between 9.95-13.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai).
The Storme will come in seven exterior color options – Urban Bronze, Sardinia Red, Pearl White, Pearl Champagne, Astern Black, Arctic White, Arctic Silver.
The Safari Storme is powered by an improved version of the 2.2 litre diesel motor which is called as the VARICOR. While the power output at 140 bhp is similar to the older car, the Storme feels much more responsive and quick owing to reduced weight. In fact, Tata claims a 0-100 kmph figure of less than 15 seconds. We had the opportunity to review the Safari Storme post launch and you can read our in depth thoughts of the Storme here.
Tata has also conducted several of these Terra Pod activities where the Safari Storme is put through challenging off-road maneuvers such as an axle twist, hill climb and descent - typical of what is expected from an SUV. You can check out the report and video here.
Tata will offer a warranty of 3 years or 100,000 km (whichever is earlier) extendable up to 4 years or 150,000 kms. Tata will soon have the Safari Storme available in all 282 dealerships and the 33 exclusive UV dealerships across the country.
