Just a day before its world premiere at Auto Expo 2018, the Tata H5X concept's design has leaked online, courtesy MotorBeam. The concept SUV previews the design of a new C-SUV from Tata Motors.
The Tata H5X concept’s leaked image suggests that its production version will arrive as the company’s best-designed SUV to the date. The concept has a very aggressive front-end with sleek headlamps, large side air vents and three-element skid plates with shiny inserts. In place of a radiator grille, it looks like there’s a minimalistic nose cone. On the sides, the concept has big alloy wheels, trapezoidal fenders and slim mirrors.
A sloping roofline and a full glass roof are two more exterior features visible in the image. Inside, it looks like there’s a large central display in the middle, in a way similar to how Tesla mounts the central display in the Tesla Model 3.
The Tata H5X concept’s production version is said to ride on the Land Rover Discovery’s platform. It will employ FCA’s 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine. Tata Motors will offer it in two versions: 5-seat (codename: Tata Q501) and 7-seat (codename: Tata Q502). The 5-seat version will have a 140 hp version of the diesel engine and the 7-seat version will have a 170 hp version of the diesel engine.
