The Argentinian market will get the 1.0L Boosterjet engine.
The Suzuki Baleno made its world debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Less than two weeks later, Suzuki Argentina have confirmed that the premium hatch will launch there in mid-2017.
The communication was made through a Facebook page update which also confirmed the 1.0L Boosterjet engine for the market, whose power is "equivalent to that of a 1.7-liter engine."
The new Baleno is designed with the “Liquid Flow” theme. Suzuki claims that the new platform it is based on has increased rigidity and reduced weight while offering enhanced levels of safety and NVH. The Baleno has dimensions of 3995 mm, 1745 mm and 1470 mm in length, width and height respectively; the SHVS variant has a reduced height of 10 mm. It has a 335-liter boot.
Features spotted on the display car were a multi-information colour display with smartphone and Apple CarPlay compatibility, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel and adaptive cruise control with speed limiter.
Powering the hatchback will be a choice of the new 1.0-liter Boosterjet, a 1.2-liter Dualjet engine and a 1.2 Dualjet engine with the SHVS system, Suzuki confirmed, for the international market. The SHVS is the mild hybrid system which is already present in India in the form of Ciaz. It has a start/stop system, brake energy recuperation and torque assist for better acceleration and increased fuel economy.
MSIL will launch the Maruti Baleno in the festival season, while exports to the UK will begin around March 2016.
