Subaru has unveiled a limited edition Subaru WRX STi S207 at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, which claims to be be the "world’s most enjoyable vehicle, providing a feel-good experience to all those who travel in it regardless of road conditions and enhancing driver skill”. It will start arriving in showrooms in March 2016.
Only 400 units of the S207 will be built and sold exclusively in Japan. Upgrades include 19-inch black wheels, an exclusive large front apron, mesh grille with red accents, and gloss black side sill extensions. The interior gets exclusive Recaro front bucket seats and custom sports instrument cluster. Out of the 400 examples, 200 of them can be spec'd with the Nurburgring 24-hour race-inspired “NBR Challenge Package”, which has a unique dry carbon rear spoiler.
Under the hood is a re-tuned version of the JDM-spec WRX STI’s 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four that produces 328 PS (increase by 20 PS) at 7,200 rpm and 431 Nm (up by 38 Nm) of torque delivered between 3,200–4,800 rpm.
Subaru equipped the S207 with a quicker steering gear ratio of 11:1, a new flexible tow bar, DampMatic II front suspension with adjustable damping, front-rear Active Torque Vectoring, stronger Brembo 6-pot brakes in front and 4-pot brakes at the rear with drilled rotors, and exclusive 255/35R19 performance tires.
