The 2015 Subaru Outback which premiered at the New York Auto Show earlier this year is in attendance at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show (2014 Moscow International Auto Salon).
Interestingly, Subaru calls it the Outback Prototype hinting that the Russia-spec model could undergo a change before it goes on sale later this year. The station wagon is based on the Subaru Legacy.
The show car is powered by a 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine (horizontally opposed engines) capable of 256 hp and 335 Nm of torque. The engine is paired either to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT.
The base model is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol boxer unit which is good for 175 hp and 236 Nm of torque. Only a CVT box is offered with this engine. The Outback is fitted with a standard Symmetrical 4WD with Active torque split.
The car is equipped with active grille shutters for enhanced aerodynamic efficiency. The feature list includes front seat-cushion airbags, keyless entry and start with PIN access, Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection System, Lane change assist, Red Cross Traffic Alert, rear view camera, 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, EyeSight driver-assist system etc.
