Thanks to our reader Gokulraj, we're able to present to you images of the updated Skoda Rapid which dealers across India are now retailing.
Subscribing to the new corporate design that was revised at the Geneva Motor Show of 2011, the Czech carmaker is seen successively switching existing model lines over to its new identity. The first model to feature the revised design was the Citigo followed by the European Rapid in 2012.
Now Skoda India has introduced the Rapid with the new winged arrow, which is larger and more visible than the earlier design. As Skoda would tell you, the hue of the winged arrow is switched from "natural green" to the new lush "ŠKODA Green". A chrome rings defines the circumference of the logo.
The revised logo appears on several points in the car both on the exterior and in the cabin: on the grille, for instance, on the bootlid, on the wheel caps and on the redesigned steering wheel.
Also note the 'Skoda' in the new typeface on the left hand side of the hood. Otherwise, optically or mechanically, the Rapid is the same car.
The Skoda Octavia, which will be in town during the festival season, is the second Skoda product in India to feature the new corporate design. Perhaps when the Superb and Yeti refreshes touch down, the complete lineup in India would have switched over to the new corporate dialect.
