The Skoda Octavia Black Edition was one of the eight new cars Skoda UK launched in July 2014, offering higher equipment for a bargain price. While the European markets receive the facelifted Skoda Octavia in early 2017, India will continue with the old model for a while and receive the Black Edition during the same time.
According to a report from Autocar India, the Skoda Octavia Black Edition will go on sale in India in January 2017. Internationally, the Black Edition model has been offered in black and white exterior colours, with black door mirror housings, 18-inch alloys wheels, roof and spoiler. The interior adopts the black theme with all-black upholstery and sports seats. The UK specification additionally got sunset privacy glass, ‘Amundsen’ satellite navigation, DAB digital radio, full leather upholstery, cruise control, floor mats and metallic/pearl effect paint.
The standard Octavia is available with three engine options: 110 kW (150 PS) 1.4 TSI petrol, 132 kW (180 PS) 1.8 TSI petrol and 105 kW (143 PS) 2.0 TDI diesel, and three transmission choices: 6-speed manual, 6-speed DSG automatic and 7-speed DSG automatic, and the Black would have to pick from it.

Besides the Skoda Octavia Black Edition, the Skoda Octavia RS will be launched next year in India, but the question of performance changes on the sporty variant remains unanswered.
