Skoda launched the Skoda Monte Carlo in India earlier this month. Here are the sporty sedan's live images from the showroom floor.
The Skoda Monte Carlo is a variant of the Skoda Rapid, but Skoda has listed it as a separate model in India. The car name badge on the tailgate still reads Rapid, though. The Monte Carlo has a two-tone exterior theme. It features black radiator grille, gloss black ORVM housings, 16-inch Monte Carlo dual-tone alloy wheels, black trunk lid spoiler, Monte Carlo flag badge on the B-pillar, black grained rear diffuser and black roof foil. Flash Red and Candy White are the colour choices.
On the inside, the Skoda Monte Carlo has leather-clad flat bottomed steering wheel and gear knob - both with contrasting red detailing, Monte Carlo design leatherette seat upholstery and front door sill strips, stainless foot pedals, piano black AC vents and sporty textile mats with red stitching.

The Skoda Monte Carlo was a good opportunity for Skoda to introduce the 1.2-litre TSI petrol engine (105 PS/175 Nm) of the VW Vento to its range. However, Skoda India didn't do so. The Monte Carlo has the same engine options as the regular Rapid: 105 PS 1.6-litre MPI petrol and 110 PS 1.5-litre TDI diesel. 5-speed manual and 6-speed Tiptronic automatic are the transmission choices for the petrol and 5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic are the transmission chocies for the diesel model.
