Along with the Skoda Karoq Scout, Skoda Karoq Sportline and Skoda Vision RS Concept, the Skoda Kodiaq RS is celebrating its world premiere at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Here are the first-ever Skoda RS SUV's live images from the show.

The Skoda Kodiaq RS is the first SUV from the Czech carmaker to get an RS variant and also features the most powerful production diesel engine in the company’s history. According to Skoda boss - Bernhard Maier, the Kodiaq RS is “the new spearhead in our SUV offering".

The Skoda Kodiaq RS will be available in both five- and seven-seat options. It features sporty bumpers, gloss black grille, mirrors, roof rails and window frames, and 20-inch Xtreme alloy wheels as standard. Interior highlights include Alcantara upholstery with contrast red stitching, carbon-fibre detailing on the instrument cluster, flat-bottom steering wheel and a Virtual Cockpit with Sports view. An electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, ambient LED lighting and tinted windows are standard.

Powering the Skoda Kodiaq RS is a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine that is capable of pumping out 240 PS of maximum power and 500 Nm of peak torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel drive system work together to send drive to the wheels. The SUV has a top speed of 220 km/h, and it completes a 0-100 km/h sprint in seven seconds.

The engine comes equipped with the Dynamic Sound Boost system for enhancing the aural symphony. The Skoda Kodiaq vRS also features Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) with Driving Mode Select, electronically adjustable shock absorbers and progressive steering as standard.

The Skoda Kodiaq RS has logged a record lap-time of 9 min and 29.84 seconds at the Nürburgring for a seven-seat SUV. While Skoda has the Octavia RS on sale in India, the company hasn’t revealed any information on the availability of the Kodiaq RS in the country. The regular model costs INR 34.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) in the Style trim.
