Volkswagen India will launch the refreshed Passat on the 29th of next month, Autocar India is reporting.
Indian Autos Blog on Feb 7 reported that the new Passat was the company's next offering for India.
The seventh generation Passat bases itself on the previous generation model. VW had gone in for a reskinning operation instead of an all-new sedan. The length is increased by 4mm, while the height and width are left untouched.
The interiors according to reports is well built and quality has witnessed an appreciable upgrade. There is oodles of chrome and the comfort offered by the Passat, at the front or rear, has been retained.
Two engines will be offered - 2.0 TDI and 1.8 TSI - these engines are familiar to Indians as they feature on VW group sedans. The diesel engine will generate an additional 32bhp to bring the grand total to 170bhp.
