Successor of the Tata Aria.
Autocar India has posted an exclusive gallery of the upcoming Tata Hexa crossover, which is expected to launch early next year.
Basically a rugged version of the Tata Aria, the car was previewed by the Hexa concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, and will rival the likes of Mahindra XUV500, upper variants of the Mahindra Scorpio, Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. It measures 4,764 mm long, 1,895 mm wide, 1,780 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.
The Hexa offers ESP (electronic stability program), projector headlamps with auto function, taillamps with LED position lamps, large alloy wheels, 6-seat configuration with captain seats, leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, mood lighting and 6 airbags.
Under the hood, the Tata Hexa is powered by the familiar 2.2-liter four-cylinder VARICOR 400 diesel engine that delivers 154.2 hp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm between 1,700 – 2,700 rpm. It is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while a GM-sourced 6-speed automatic will, reportedly, be offered as an option. The Hexa will also feature a 4WD system with a Drive Mode selector.
