To be sold in South American markets, initially.
India Today reports to have received confirmation that Nissan will launch the Nissan Kicks compact SUV in India in 2017. The Nissan Kicks is slated to be sold in South American markets, initially.
Nissan has dropped a teaser of the production Kicks, and has confirmed its mass production at the Resende Industrial Complex in Brazil. It is expected to be unveiled at the 2016 Olympics in August, where Nissan is one of the major sponsors.
Technical details on the Nissan Kicks are scarce at this moment. Insiders have told Brazilian websites that the Kicks is based on Nissan’s V-Platform which supports the Micra and Sunny, and will pack a 1.8-liter Flex engine mated to a manual gearbox or a CVT. Note that Nissan's V-Platform is highly localized in the Indian market, which would help the company in leveraging costs.
