New GT-R GT3 race car is improved in over many aspects.
At the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon, Nissan unveiled its new and improved GT3 race car for the next FIA GT3 season as well as an even hardcore N-Attack package for the Nissan GT-R Nismo.
Nissan's contender for the next GT3 season is based on the 2015 GT-R road car, but stripped down and tuned to FIA regulations. Compared to last year's racecar, the 2015 Nismo GT-R GT3 is lighter, more aerodynamic and more efficient than ever before. Nissan claims that the car also has improved weight distribution between the front and rear for better handling.
Otherwise, it's powered by the same VR38DETT 3.8 liter V6 Twin-turbo engine producing 550 PS and 675 Nm of torque, which is transferred to the rear wheels via a six speed Hewland sequential gearbox.
Also kept for display is a GT-R Nismo fitted with the N-Attack package, which stands for Nurburgring Attack. With the extreme package, Nissan is offering the same setup and enhancements that allowed the GT-R Nismo to lap the Nurburgring race track in an impressive 7:08.679, securing the volume production car lap record.
