GM has unveiled the all-new next generation Chevrolet Cruze at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show.
Designed taking cues from the Chevrolet Tru concept showcased here two years ago, the model sports a "dual-mesh" grille and peeled headlamps. Steeply raked front windshield, chrome trim and short overhangs are a few of the different design features compared to the current Cruze, on the replacement.
The vehicle will be launched in China in two engine options - 1.4-liter turbo and a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol - and three transmission choices - 6-speed manual (newly developed), 6-speed AMT and a seven speed dual clutch AT (newly developed).
Chevrolet say that the new powertrains will provide 14-21 percent better fuel economy compared to the predecessors.
The new Cruze is based on a brand new architecture to "set new benchmarks in the segment for fuel economy, handling and intelligent technology."
