Second product under Lada's new product lineup.
Lada has announced that the mass production of the Lada XRay hatchback has commenced in Russia, and that it will go on sale from February 15, 2016. Prices will be announced closer to launch.
The exterior is based on Lada’s latest design language, featuring a new front face with the X-motif, a dual slat grille flanked by a pair of large headlamps, and round fog lamps in the lower front fascia. The B-Segment hatchback measures 4,164 mm long, 1,764 mm wide, 1,570 mm high, has a wheelbase of 2,592 mm and a ground clearance of 195 mm.
Inside, top-end variants will come equipped with features like a 7-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, FM/AM, USB and AUX ports, steering mounted controls, cruise control, heated front seats, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, an SOS function that uses the ERA-GLONASS emergency response system, and a rear view camera. Boot space is rated at 376 liters and 1,382 liters with rear seats folded.
The engine lineup will include a AvtoVAZ's own 1.6 liter 16-valve engine with 106 hp, a Renault-sourced 1.6 liter 16-valve with 114 hp, and a 1.8 liter unit with 122 hp at a later time. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.
The Lada Xray will spawn a Cross variant, as affirmed by leaked patent images. The model is expected to hit showrooms at the end of 2016 or in early 2017.
