Today morning we walk you through the pick of developments that were recorded on Indian Autos Blog on the 7th and 8th of June since 2009.
June 7, 2009 - Fiat plant produces its 10 millionth car 33 years after the commencement of production.
June 8, 2009 - Skoda's Vrchlabi plant celebrates its 100th anniversary.
June 7, 2010 - VW India rolls out the 10,000th car from its Chakan plant. The production capacity is 110,000 units. The Polo and Fabia are being produced here.
June 8, 2010 - Suzuki is still testing its new Swift hatchback in Europe. The first undisguised units are seen loaded on to a truck in Hungary, hinting at an immediate launch. Maruti takes over a year to introduce it to India as the previous gen's sales are still very strong.
June 8, 2011 - We yawn at two special edition Maruti models. The Tata Nano enters the taxi market in Sri Lanka and we ask if its good for the brand. The air conditioned Nano cabs operated by neatly dressed drivers charge a little extra over what an autorickshaw would. They ply the same routes and market themselves as safer and more comfortable alternatives.
June 8, 2012 - The Swift Dzire has been launched in Uruguay in GA and GL variants. The LHD Dzire, made by Maruti Suzuki, would also ship to Africa and the Middle East in due course. The exports help in clearing excess petrol inventory while increasing the footprint of Suzuki in these regions.
