Will launch in Indonesia first.
Following its showcase at Bandung, the capital of Indonesia’s West Java province, HPM (Honda Prospect Motor) has now brought the Honda BR-V pre-production prototype for display at the Atrium Mall in Cirebon.
The Honda BR-V made its world debut at the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) on August 20, and has received over 1,600 bookings since. It is expected to launch in Indonesia early next year in three trim levels – S, E and Prestige. Prices will range from Rp. 230 million to Rp. 265 million (INR 10.83 lakhs and INR 12.48 lakhs).
The BR-V combines the practicality of a compact MPV and ruggedness of a crossover in one package, with the characteristic Honda styling. The 7-seater measures 4,455 mm long, 1,735 mm wide, 1,650 mm high, has a wheelbase of 2,660 mm and a ground clearance of over 200 mm.
Under the hood is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine delivering 120 PS and 145 Nm of torque. It will be paired to a new 6-speed manual transmission as standard, while higher variants can be spec'd with a CVT unit for the Indonesian market.
As for equipment, it comes with projector headlights with LED positioning light, electrically retractable ORVMs, double blower AC, steering mounted controls and a 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, VSA (Vehicle Stability Control) and HSA (Hill Start Assist).
