Ford and its Malaysian Partner Sime Darby Auto Connexion has announced that it has lined up a slew of products for 2015.
Talking to the Malaysian media, Mr. David Schoch, Group Vice President and President of Asia Pacific, Ford Motor Company, has confirmed that the new Ford Mondeo, Everest (Endeavour in India) and 2014 Mustang will be launched in Malaysia next year.
The RHD version of the new Ford Mondeo (called as the Fusion in the US) will enter production in the UK later this year. To be imported to Malaysia as a CBU, the D-Segment sedan is expected to be powered by the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol engines and a 2.0-litre TDCi diesel motor. The sedan is expected to be launched in the marketplace in the first half of 2015.
The newly unveiled Ford Everest/Endeavour is based on an all-new platform and features a revised suspension system. The exterior and interior are vastly improved as well. The Malaysia-spec model is expected to be offered with the 2.2-litre four-cylinder and 3.2-litre five-cylinder TDCI diesel engines. The Thai-made SUV is would be launched in Malaysia in a few months after the Mondeo. We remind you that Ford had confirmed the Indian launch for 2015.
The new Ford Mustang is also earmarked for Malaysia, in the later part of 2015. Made in the US, the current model is the first Mustang to be available in RHD configuration. A 2.3-litre EcoBoost and a 5.0-litre V8 engine are confirmed for Malaysia. The pony will be available both in Coupe and Convertible guise.

While the Mondeo and Mustang will not reach India in the foreseeable future, the Endeavour is expected to be launched next year. The SUV would be assembled at Ford's Chennai plant from Thai-made CKD kits.
