Facelift brings Ford Edge-inspired front-end.
Ford showcased the 2016 Ford Kuga at Auto China 2016. The mid-life facelift brings the new family look of Ford crossover/SUV segment models to the Kuga.
Up front, changes include a new trapezoidal grille, smaller lower grille, new design bumper, reshaped headlamps, vertical fog lamps and new design skid plate. The rear-end changes include new design tail lamps and boot-lid. Inside, the instrument panel has been revised and reorganised for a new look, the steering wheel and air-conditioning controls have lesser buttons and have been made more intuitive and easy to navigate, and there's a new electronic parking brake as well as a new dock lock indicator.
Ford has also updated existing and added new technologies. These include Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system, Active Park Assist, Active City Stop (operable up to 50 km/h, previously: 30 km/h), Cross Traffic Alert and Adaptive Front Lighting System.
In China the 2016 Ford Kuga (facelift) will be available with a new 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine and a 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine. The full specifications and pricing haven't been released yet. In the pre-facelift Kuga, the 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine makes 133 kW (178.28 hp) and 240 Nm of torque and the 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine produces 178 kW (238.61 hp) and 350 Nm of torque.
