Ford Freestyle receives Trend+ trim for petrol variant - Report

As per a report from trycarpal, the Ford Freestyle, which was launched in India on 26 April 2018, has reportedly received a Trend+ trim for the petrol engine variant. Reportedly, The new grade has an ex-showroom price of INR 6.13 lakh**.

With the introduction of the new trim, the Ford Freestyle is available in five trims - Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+.

The new trim slots between the Trend (INR 6.09 lakhs**) and the Titanium (INR 6.58 lakhs**) options with the petrol engine variant. Thanks to the close price positioning of the Trend and the Trend+ trim, the company is expected to rejig the trims and the associated feature packages. If true, Ford could drop the 7-inch FLY infotainment unit and Reverse Camera from the Trend variant.

The Ford Freestyle is available with two engine options - 1.2-litre three-cylinder NA petrol and 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel. The petrol motor outputs a maximum power of 96 PS and with a peak torque of 120 Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An automatic variant could be on the cards. The oil-burner produces a maximum power of 100 PS along with a peak torque of 215 Nm. The only transmission on offer is a 5-speed manual unit.

Standard safety net across all the trims comprises dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and rear fog lamp. Furthermore, the top-spec Titanium+ model features side and curtain airbags, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, Ford MyKey and 6.5-inch SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
