The Ford Figo Aspire's media drive has kicked off and the first details have started coming in. Here are the preliminary specifications of the Maruti Dzire rival which goes on sale in August.
Ford Figo Aspire Engines & Transmissions
The Figo Aspire will be available in three engine with two transmission options.
- At the base is the 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine (1,196 cc displacement) that delivers 88 PS and 112 Nm of torque. It is coupled to a standard five-speed manual gearbox and delivers a fuel efficiency of 18.16 km/l.
- The diesel engine is the familiar 1.5-litre TDCI Duratorq unit (1,498 cc displacement) that debuted on the Fiesta and goes into the EcoSport. Its output has been hiked to 100 PS and 215 Nm of torque. This engine is matched to a five-speed manual gearbox and delivers an ARAI certified mileage of 25.83 km/l.
- The top-end Figo Aspire receives the 1.5-liter Ti-VCT engine (1,499 cc displacement) that is serving the EcoSport. It comes only with the six-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission (PowerShift), and produces 112 PS and 136 Nm of torque. It delivers 17 km/l mileage.
Ford Figo Aspire Dimensions
The Figo Aspire is 3,995 mm long, 1,695 mm wide, 1,525 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,491 mm. It weighs 995-1,015 kg (1.2L petrol), 1,023-1,048 kg (1.5L diesel) and 1,038-1,047 kg (1.5L petrol). The boot space capacity on the Aspire is 359 litres, its ground clearance is 174 mm, and its turning radius is 4.9 m.
Ford Figo Aspire Features & Variants
Features confirmed are six airbags (front dual, side and curtain bags) along with ABS and EBD, Ford's SYNC with AppLink entertainment system with Voice Commands, MyFord Dock (on lower variants), Ford MyKey that allows the owner to restrict the top-speed and music volume of the car, auto climate control, EPAS with Pull Drift Compensation (electric power steering), height adjustable seat belts, leather seats, 14-inch alloy wheels, and ESP & Hill Launch Assist reserved to the automatic transmission variant.
The Figo Aspire will launch in Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ variants, with 6 body colour options.
The Aspire is manufactured at Ford's new second plant in Sanand, Gujarat, inaugurated in March. The Aspire has been previewed to customers through mall activations that spanned almost 2 months, across India.
