After the Ford Figo and Ford Aspire, it’s time for the Ford EcoSport to receive the sporty ’S’ variant. A new report from Autocar India says that the Ford EcoSport S’ launch is on 14 May. The Ford EcoSport Signature variant also is expected to arrive that day.
The ’S’ stands for ‘Sports’ and is based on the Titanium+ grade of the Ford EcoSport. Darkened HID headlamps, black fog lamp bezel, 17-inch premium dark tarnish metallic wheels in a unique design, black roof and a red-coloured S tailgate badge are the exterior specialities.
The Ford EcoSport S’ sporty theme continues inside with orange trim, orange stitching and orange stripes. An electric sunroof and a 4.2-inch MID round up the additions indoors.
The Ford EcoSport S will bring back the 1.0L EcoBoost petrol engine to the Indian market. While formerly it was paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, now it may come with a 6-speed manual transmission. Ford will offer the 1.5L TDCi diesel engine as well. The S variant will have a stiffer suspension setup for a more exhilarating driving experience and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for added safety.

The Ford EcoSport S could have a starting price of around INR 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
