Vehicles manufactured between January 2013 and September 2014 affected.
In an official announcement today, Ford India has recalled a total of 20,752 units of the EcoSport. Customers are currently being written to, and correponding repair (related to the recall only) will be carried out free of cost.
This, a field service action, is an exercise by which a manufacturer can check its products for possible issues and rectify them, hence saving the end user from any sort of trouble, except for having to bring the car to the service centre. The issues being checked on the bunch of EcoSports recalled is related to a possible long term corrosion in the fuel and vapour line.
The company will also reroute the wiring so that the side airbags (available on certain variants only) aren't hindered when deployed. The said issue was responsible for Ford EcoSport's recent recall in Australia, too.
Since Ford is getting in touch with customers personally, there's no website yet where you could check if your vehicle is affected.

The EcoSport was launched in June 2013 at a starting price of INR 5.59 lakh onward. It not only went to create a buzz in the market for itself, it also propagated the idea of a compact SUV/crossover along with its rival, the Renault Duster.
