The Ford EcoSport was launched first in Brazil where it's been engineered.
India and China were expected to be the next markets in line for the mini SUV but Argentina jumps the queue.
The EcoSport was launched in Argentina with two engine options - 1.6 litre petrol developing 110 bhp and a 2.0 litre petrol good for 143 bhp, both mated to a five speed manual gearbox. Strangely, the much acclaimed 1.0 EcoBoost turbo petrol is not a part of the lineup for the Latin American country.
The cars comes loaded with standard features like ABS, dual airbags, Ford SYNC with Bluetooth connectivity and audio system and chilled glove box. In addition, the 1.6 SE variant gets rear power windows, satin aluminum finish for the grille, fog lamps and roof rails.
The 2.0 litre SE variant gets ESP, traction control, grade assist system and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). The Freestyle variant packs in 16" alloy wheels, leather wrapped steering, six speakers and rear parking sensor.
The Titanium variant comes with all the bells and whistles mentioned above along with side and curtain airbags, automatic climate control, auto headlamps and wipers and leather upholstery.
