Force Motors has launched the Gurkha in a new ‘Xtreme’ grade, for a price of INR 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The range-topper sports a more powerful engine and a new transfer case.
The Force Gurkha Xtreme employs the Mercedes-Benz OM 611 derived 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 140 bhp and 321 Nm of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed unit derived from the Mercedes-Benz G-32. For better off-roading, the Xtreme grade comes with a new low-range transfer case and a new live rigid front axle.
The Gurkha Xtreme is available in only the 3-door version that seats six people. It measures 3,992 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 2,075 mm in height. Force Motors has optimally tuned the front and rear suspension for enhanced ride and handling. The off-roader offers a ground clearance of 210 mm and a water wading depth of 550 mm.
