Engine produces 141 PS and 321 Nm in Force One.
Overdrive reports that Force Motors will introduce a BS-4 variant of the Force Gurkha off-roader in a few months time. Currently, it is only available with a BS-3 engine, hampering Force Motors from selling the Gurkha in a few cities.
The engine in question is the 2.2-litre, four cylinder diesel engine (OM611) from the Force One, which is also a Mercedes-derived engine. In the latter, it produces 141 PS and 321 Nm of torque, thus offering a power bump of 59 PS and 91 Nm of torque.
The current Gurkha is sold with a 2.6-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine (OM616) that produces 82 PS and 230 Nm. It is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, and features differential locks on both front and rear axles in 4x4 variants. It also has a ground clearance of 210 mm.
The Gurkha is available in three variants – 2WD soft-top, 4WD soft-top and a 4WD hard-top. It is priced from INR 6.31-8.56 Lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai).
