Only exclusive to Bengaluru residents, for now.

Kalyani Motors, a dealer from Bengaluru, has listed the entire Maruti product range on one of India's most popular e-commerce website, Flipkart, in a bid to further ease the process of booking a Maruti.

This could further ease the process of booking a Maruti.

Only exclusive to Bengaluru residents, the dealer is accepting pre-orders from Flipkart for a minimum deposit amount of INR 10,000 for any of Maruti's product, right from the entry level Maruti Alto 800 LXi to the flagship Maruti S-Cross DDiS 320 Zeta. Note that the Maruti Baleno is not listed by the dealer.

Unlike buying a normal product and awaiting its delivery, customers will have to go through certain steps following the payment of deposit for their desired Maruti. Once the payment is sent, the order is to be approved by the dealer, who will notify and share further details with the customer, as well as arrange a test drive.

This is then followed by regular documentation & other payment related formalities, for which customers are required to visit the dealership. Once the balance payment of the OTR price has been made, the order cannot be cancelled. The transaction ends with the delivery of chosen vehicle to the customer's home.

Maruti weren't the first one to test the waters. When the 2015 Mahindra Scorpio facelift was unveiled, the company tied up with Snapdeal to accept pre-orders online. In another instance, Royal Enfield only accepted pre-orders in their online store for the limited edition Royal Enfield Classic 500 that were inspired by despatch riders.
