The Fiat Linea received a facelift last year which first went on sale in Turkey. The sedan also entered few other international markets in Europe but emerging countries like India and Brazil are made to wait for the refreshed sedan.

While we'll continue waiting for a while, the Brazilians are expecting the car to hit their market soon. However, news emerges that the Brazilian car's facelift is different from the car selling in Europe.

Brazilian test mules reveal that the car retains the grill of the international facelift but the bumper will have some uniqueness. Fiat Brazil has reportedly started assembling the prototypes of the facelift for testing and validation.

From reading local media reports, we learn that changes in the Brazil spec Linea would be less comprehensive. And it remains to be seen whether the sedan will have the license plate enclosure in the boot lid or the bumper.

Under the hood, the sedan will continue using the 1.8 litre E.TORQ flex fuel engine that puts out 132 PS, available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Back in India, Fiat is in the process of setting up its independent dealer network and has just launched the 2013 versions of the Linea and Punto. According to the roadmap Fiat India announced last year, the next generation Fiat Linea would come here by 2014 and the company will reposition the current model as the 'Linea Classic'. We'll soon find out if the Linea Classic and the Brazilian facelift are related.
