Cosmetic changes are relatively subtle but make the Fortuner look sportier.
Fiar Design, a leading ‘Aero Parts' manufacturer in Thailand, has released a new body kit for the new Toyota Fortuner, an earlier version of which was imported and fitted by a Fortuner owner in India.
Like we saw in that particular Fortuner, the Fiar Design 'FD-1' bodykit comprises of an extended front bumper with faded silver garnish across the central portion, larger running boards for both sides, faded silver garnish across the deeper side skirt and a sportier new rear bumper with splashes of chrome as well as faded silver embellishers. The exhaust pipe can be configured to feature a chrome tip or split into two for a dual exhaust layout housed in the bumper.
Also part of the body kit are 20-inch Lenso RT-Concave matte black multi-spoke alloy wheels shod with 285/50 R20 section Goodyear Eagle GT II tyres, further beefing up the exterior look.
In India, the Toyota Fortuner is available in both petrol and diesel variants, with prices ranging between INR 25.92 Lakhs – INR 31.12 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The most popular variant is, unsurprisingly, the diesel, which packs a 2.8L GD four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with 174 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Also available is 2.7L VVT-i 4-cyl petrol engine with 164 hp and 245 Nm. Both can be had with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
The Fortuner Diesel is capable of averaging a fuel mileage of 12 km/L (manual) and 11 km/L (automatic).
