Gets spruced up exterior and interior.
The Chevrolet Onix Effect, a new top-end variant of the hatchback, has been launched in Brazil at R 50,190 (around INR 11.77 lakhs). The Onix Effect was first showcased at the Sao Paulo Motor Show in October.
Based on the top-end LTZ version, the Effect is a mere cosmetic exercise. The special variant can be distinguished from the normal Onix by its gloss black slats on the dual port grille, sportier bumper with black inserts, smoked headlamps, black roof, body skirts, graphite finished 15-inch alloy wheels, and decals on the hood, door panels and hatch door.
The interior features a sporty back color theme with satin red accents on the AC vents and steering wheel which by the way is flat-bottomed. The semi-digital instrument console sports graphics exclusive to the Effect and the carpets carry special embroidery.
Power continues to come from the 1.4-litre four-cylinder flex-fuel motor which is capable of 106 bhp. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The equipment level is derived from the LTZ trim level and includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and Chevrolet MyLink Multimedia infotainment system. The Chevrolet Onix Effect is available in White and Red Petter Summit exterior color options.
GM India did not bring the Onix or the Sonic to India, as it has the Chevrolet Sail to cover the hatchback segment. In Brazil, the Onix competes with the Toyota Etios, Ford Ka (Figo) and the Hyundai HB20.
